New to Diabetes and I've been reading lots of books by lots of people. To me, Dr Bernstein's Diabetes Solution seems like a logical, if difficult, approach to treating diabetes.
Is his method of ultra low carb considered controversial? He makes some claims about being able to reverse some neuropathy that don't make sense to me. I always thought that if you've fucked up a nerve, you've fucked up a nerve and it can't be fixed.
So, what are the general thoughts on his approach? Does the ADA and other doctors just really settle for "good enough" with blood sugar because most people won't be able to stick to the tough diet he recommends?
