Hi all, T1 here. Lately I've been experimenting with newer injection sites (I'm on MDI) and have injected insulin into my breast area a few times. First I tried injecting into the fatty area under my breast, and seeing that I had no problems or pain at all, I also tried injecting into my actual breast--again, no problems with absorption or pain. However, I asked my endocrinologist today about injecting into the breast/breast area, and he was strongly against it, saying that he was worried I would be injecting into breast tissue. Can anyone clarify what this could possibly mean, and if there is any reason to NOT inject insulin into the breasts or breast area?
