One Hour Spike and Borderline A1C

In 2014 at my first prenatal appointment, my A1C was 5.5. Failed one hour glucose test at 27 weeks with a value of 215. Controlled through pregnancy, then A1C two months postpartum was 5.6. Both annuals after that were 5.7. Most recently, I cut way back on carbs and ate (carefully) like when was pregnant.

Finally got more test strips and tried a cup of white rice for dinner, nothing else. Normally would not eat that way. Anyway, my one hour was 175! Two hours was 103, so according to guidelines of <140 in two hours, I'm good. However, clearly the one hour is helping me rationalize the 5.7 A1C since my fastings and pre meals have always been under 90.

I will spot check while on my reduced carb diet and am rechecking A1C three months out instead of annually for now.
