I recently bought a blood glucose meter because I have all the symptoms of reactive hyperglycemia. I was curious and figured I could investigate cheaply myself before going to the doctor. What I have found so far is puzzling:
My fasting blood glucose is consistently around 105. This is concerning to me because it is right on the edge of pre-diabetes. But here's the thing: my post prandial BG is about the same. At 1 and 2 and 3 hours after eating, I'm anywhere from 105 to 110, but no higher. And random checks throughput the day yield the same. I'm always in the 100 - 110 range, 24 hours a day it seems.
Any thoughts about what would cause this BG pattern? (I know, I know. Go to the doctor. I have made the appointment already, but in the mean time...)
