As a newly diagnosed diabetic I thought this was going really well. I was keeping my blood sugar down at 78 mg/dl. My whole life I've loved carbs. I would eat bread with every meal. Then chased my bread down with a two liter of soda. Since my diagnosis I've cut bread and non-diet soda (not ready to cut out all soda). But today I binged on tostadas shells. I was so nervous checking my sugar. I felt like I was bringing home a bad report card. 84 mg/dl. I was relieved but I still triple checked. Instead of letting this give me a false sense of hope that I'll be able to incorporate carbs into my diet again, I wrapped the bag up and put them away for my family to enjoy. I've been doing so well and will not let this slip up define me!
