Hi guys, just some background before I get into my concerns. I'm Type 1 with MDI and was diagnosed august 2015 with an A1C of 10.3 and moderate keytones. I was diagnosed about a week before I was set to start college, and because of such instead of moving onto campus, my parents and I decided it would be better for me to live at home for the first two years in order to become more comfotable and getting into the routine of MDI amd testing every 3 hours. For the first year I did mostly good with a few instances of neglecting to test due to denial, but average A1C stayed around 6.9. After becoming a bit more comfortable we decided to get a dexcom and has been a great help and a lot less work.
Fast foward to this past spring, my last visit to my endocrinologist, test showed my A1C rose to 7.2. This is because I have really started to struggle with motivation to keep on top of testing blood, pre-injecting to prevent spikes, counting every carb etc. I've had my parents to help me in that they keep on top of me which is great support, but at somepoint I need to be able to do this on my own and find the motivation to do it.
So im basically looking for any kind of advice, tips, ways people have worked through lack of motivation, that kind of stuff, and feedback appreciated!
P.S first post so please excuse if the formatgore
