How long can insulin realistically last in warm temperatures?

I recently switched to a pump so now I get insulin in vials instead of the injection pens. I carry extra insulin around in my bag which I keep with me most of the time so it is usually at room temperature. But occasionally I have to leave my bag in my car for an hour or two, which gets pretty hot during the summer. Should I worry about the insulin going bad? Are frequent exposures to hot temperatures for short durations just as bad as less frequent, longer exposures?
