I suppose the response was expected since it's still pretty early, but I figured if they got a callout during the keynote that they'd be a bit more transparent about their status. I emailed them to ask if they're confident it will be ready at launch.
Their response was:

Just thought I'd share....FWIW. I'm just super-excited about using it outside of my phone. It's really the last really needed feature I was hoping for.
