My wife just started using a pen with 32g4mm needles and she has me inject for her in the upper buttocks. But every time I do it she has anywhere from moderate to excruciating pain.
We went to the doctor and asked the doctor to show me how to inject, and when the doctor did an injection my wife said it was almost painless. I tried to emulate what the doctor did when we got home that evening but when I tried it hurt her again. I've tried different techniques, different pinches, different speed, different grip, and everything seems to hurt her when I do it.
I have read almost every online insulin pen guide I could find and they never go into detail about how to actually pierce the skin. Can anyone share their tips or things they have learned to make injections as pain-free as possible? Or just general injection techniques that I should follow to make it more comfortable?
