Tl;dr: Fainted for the first time in my life because of hypo caused by heat and sport, felt weird af.
Hi, T1 for 16,5 years now. Today, for the first time in my life, I fainted. I was just buying some groceries after finishing sport. Usually I go straight home after sport but I had literally nothing left in the fridge, and I was so dehydrated, so I just said fuck it. Now, i'm the kind of guy that can't handle today's temperatures, and I should have known better.
So here I am at the checkout, and in an instant I start to sweat a lot, like never before, but just assuming that the unusual heat is getting to me. The next 10 seconds happened so slowly: I just looked around and everything was deformed. Space, sound, everything. And at the end of those 10 secs, I just thought to myself: "You dumbass, that's an hypo."
After that all I remember is waking up in recovery position surrounded by people, with an awful pain at the back of the head. I had just enough energy to mutter "I'm diabetic" and they rushed to get me sugar and juice. They sat me down on a bench and I drank. Stayed there for about 20 minutes.
I can't even remember seeing myself fall or anything. It feels so fucking weird to just blackout, from 100-0. Not like drunkness-blackout. It was...instant. I also didn't feel any of my usual signs like shaking, and general exhaustion. I was feeling very fine until those last 10 seconds, besides the sweating (again, I should have known better).
So yeah, just a little share because it's the first time I ever felt like this. Kudos to the people that helped me, they reacted very fast, althought I don't quite know how long I was in the black.
I'll be more careful next time. Definitely would not recommend.
Stay safe friends.
