I've been a type1 diabetic for 16 years (diaversary on the 4th of July). I have a great friend who was just diagnosed with type2. Admittedly, I don't know much about the differences. He and I are communicating and I'm trying to help in any way.
One question I have is, due to the medications they take, are they as susceptible to low blood sugars as type1s? Or does the medication do something different than the insulin does? I hope that's clear. I just want to warn him about the more immediate dangers of lows, but want to make sure it applies before I do.
Anything else I can help him with that I may not consider because I'm type1?
