I caught strep throat Saturday night, by early Monday morning I suddenly found that I couldn't keep water or food down due to high levels of ketones.
After about 6 hours I was finally able to get in to my Dr and get a shot of Phenergan, and 15 minutes later was chugging water and downing a bowl of chicken noodle soup, ketones were negative by Tuesday afternoon.
I had to do the same process about 6 years ago, and it's made me wonder if it's worth it to get a prescription for injection anti-nausea meds, just so that I don't have to wait to get in to the Dr or deal with ER wait times & costs.
I'm mostly curious about the shelf life of these kinds of meds, and the cost, or if anyone else has found it worth it?
