If your Humalog pen won't inject due to the mechanism locking or breaking, you can pull down on the plunger (away from the needle end), and it should start working again. I had two Humalog pens "break" on me this week when the mechanism at the bottom jammed, or locked, or whatever happened, and both are now working fine.
I'm so glad Eli Lilly is using that super surcharge on pens vs vials on quality control/assurance.
