I've been using the Omnipod for almost 10 years and am on my third PDM (latest generation). This morning, my PDM gave me a critical error, disabled my pod, and displayed the 'call Omnipod' screen with the error reference code. The last time this happened, many years ago when I had the first generation PDM, that error meant the PDM was dead, and Insulet overnighted me a new PDM to replace it. Expecting that outcome this time, I called Insulet, but they walked me through a reset process I knew nothing about!
On the back of the PDM, in the battery compartment, there is a small rectangular window just below the batteries where you can see the green circuit card. In the center of the card is a small hole. Using the end of a paperclip inserted into this hole resets the PDM (similar to getting an errant beeping pod to stop beeping). I had to reset the PDM's clock, but all other settings were intact.
I was so relieved that I didn't have to get a new PDM! Thought I'd share this since I haven't seen anything online about it.
