For a while my blood sugars were running great I had a 0.5 units/hr basal rate and 1:10 insulin:carb ratio. Suddenly my blood sugars started going high for no reason. I adjust my basal rate to 0.75 and carb ratio 1:7 and my blood sugar always goes up to 200 until I correct it. Could this be due to something other than bad insulin? Perhaps a change in diet? I have also been eating a bit unhealthier the past week. But I'm not eating that many more carbs so I am confused. I'm thinking a should throw out my vial and start a new one, but I don't want t waste this vial if it was really just my diet changing the last weeks that is causing this. I use novolog by the way, and it's taking a lot of units to bring me down when I correct, and I use an omnipod.
