So I'm on Metformin 500mg twice a day. No insulin. How in the hell am I supposed to even remotely keep my glucose near 100 or even reliably below 180?!
If it's low enough for it to be near 100 I"m absolutely starving.
I had a level around like, 180 or something the other day and went out and weed-whacked part of my yard and my arms shook for like 1.5 hours! I ate and it went away and I tested and it was mid 200s.
My body is telling me 250 is good and I'm dying if it's below that. LOL
Is this just my life now?
What should I be doing?
I was diagnosed by the VA and didn't get a lot of information, and everything online says basically below 150 and I'm good. There's no way I can keep it that low consistently. It's just not possible.
I'm 5'10" 195 Lbs 40 years old BTW. But the VA dietitian is so used to worrying about being overweight that I got the impression they didn't know how to tell me what to eat without counting total calories. I guarantee I'm going to drop 20 Lbs just by giving up the sugar. Iv'e done it before for a diet.
What's like, realistic here? And why did my arms give out if my sugar was only a little high?
EDIT: Also where can I get cheap test strips? I have the Accu-Chek Aviva meter.
