Doctor increased daily toujeo dose, added Humulin r u-500 fast acting for meals, and Trulicity once a week, replacing bydureon (ouch, those bydureon needles!)
Have been checking BG lately and it's muchlower. Spikes aren't outrageous, not normal but not awful.
I've been having lows at night where I must get up and get some glucose. I've found that the 1.97 mini bottles of glucose from target actually work quicker than candy, soda, juice. they also don't spike me. they just raise it quick and then no higher.
also, I've been hot a lot, and very active. I got some medicare approved shoes from dr. comfort (they are 140 bucks online, so I might get a second pair) and I can walk about an hour a day now. I can easily go 3o minutes, then take breaks, and get in 3 or 4 30 minute walking sessions before my feet and my body say no more.
right now before bed my bg is 90. Just perfectly perfect.
I get lows in the middle of the night but morning is higher. the night lows have required more attention and care than normal, and a small bolus of Humulin at about 6 am when I get up for bathroom helps with morning highs. then i'm up by noon and the bg levels are within range.
i'm looking forward to my a1c's for once!
