Trouble staying motivated and any tips on not letting it control your life while still managing it

I wish I was better at it but now that I am balancing more in my life my diabetes has fallen to the wayside which is terrible but how can I stay motivated for it when life gets hard.

I used to be like really good at it but all I ate was like 6 things and I wasn't really living.

TLDR: it's hard to stay motivated to keep blood sugar on track.
