A friend of mine at work came to me today to let me know that she was diagnosed as T1D over the weekend. She was doing...as well as can be expected (not surprising). As we got to talking, I realized that since I've been T1D for over 20 years, I've lost touch with what some of the best beginner's resources are. She's got a lot to learn and experience ahead of her, and I'd love to help pave that road for her a bit if possible.
I've already told her about getting a pump and a CGM as quickly as she can, and she was already aware and working on that. I highly recommended Dexcom, but I didn't know which pumps are considered "best of breed" because the pump that I'm on is old as dirt since I Loop.
So if anyone have any resources/ideas about someone just starting down this road, I would love to be able to pass them along to her. She's not on FB but can be, if there are any newbie diabetic FB groups as well.
