So my boyfriend is T1 and has been diagnosed for 3-ish years now. I know a little about it because of other people around me growing up that have it and my mom teaches a community class about maintaining it, but there's one thing I'm still a little confused about: would a twix bar be good for bringing up low blood sugar?
I want to have something on me in case my boyfriend's sugar gets too low (and twix are his favorite), but I did some research and a few sources say to stay away from chocolate because the fats/proteins in it tend to stabilize blood sugar instead of letting it come back up. Since twix has caramel and a cookie/wafer thing in it would the carbs from that be enough to bring blood sugar back up or should I find a better alternative to carry with me?
