my dad is not healthy and he doesn’t seem to want to change.
This morning, my mom found some hidden diabetes injections in the fridge that my dad had never told us about. He goes to the doctor alone and doesn’t tell us how bad it is because he either doesn’t want to worry us or knows that we are just going to get more frustrated and try to make him change.
The alcohol is probably the main thing causing it. He drinks every single day. It’s to the point where he can’t sleep without drinking. Even when he sleeps, you can tell he is struggling. He is only 45. As a family, we are deeply dependant on him. And it hurts to see him not feel healthy. In addition to the syringes, he eats tons of meds every single day( LIKE WAY TOO MUCH)
He is also very less likely to listen to us and will probably resist any advice or requests.
With a bad diet and way too much alcoholic intake, what should we do as a family to make him want to change and feel better? Also, I’m from a brown family where he thinks that a little bit of alcohol everyday is normal in every household. But at this point, it really isn’t. How can we find help for him to stop drinking as much when he is obviously very addicted to it?
