So I was at my endocrine appointment a month or so ago and my doctor told about the trick with the dexcom g6 to extend your sensor for a second session. I was thrilled because the dexcom had made keeping track of my glucose astronomically easier, but my complaint is that they are very stingy with orders through insurance, making stockpiling next to impossible and paying out of pocket is prohibitively expensive, so I always use the sensors to the last minute of the 10 days. Anyway, using this loophole was fantastic especially for work, because I work as a firefighter and once my 24 hour shift starts, I'm stuck until the following morning and if I can restart a sensor, I don't have to worry about bringing a new sensor with me, mainly an issue because I forget stuff often leaving the house early in the morning. So a couple shifts ago, I go to work expecting to be able to extend my session, but then shortly after I start the process, I get the alert saying you can't restart a sensor... Long story short, DICK MOVE, DEXCOM.
One last vent, had an issue with a transmitter not lasting until the next ones were covered by insurance, had to pay for one out of pocket. Dexcom changed the date I was eligible to reorder online to the date it would have been if they had just sent me two through insurance. Wouldn't let me reorder, and I had call and get bounced around to multiple people until on of them finally figured it out. Love their product, dislike the company.
