Ok, so this is going to sound awful but I think I've been dealing with diabetes-like symptoms for around the past year or so. I just turned 22 a week ago. I first noticed that I was going to the bathroom a lot more than usual, like I would wake up to pee like 3 or more times at night and mornings. It is especially worse in the mornings. I am thirsty all the time, but some days are better than others. Again, mornings are the worse for this. I can't even drink water during class without having to pee after just 15 minutes, I've also noticed that I urinate a lot more when I don't eat anything for hours. I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night with my right or left hand numb, I think it might be carpal tunnel. I'm also tired all the time but I thought maybe I was just wasn't getting enough sleep, but even then I still feel tired and sluggish. Last year, I was in the ER and the nurse tested my blood sugar, I don't remember the number but the little meter/device went red, and she said it was high but since I had eaten only 3 hours earlier that I should just drink water and it should go down. Since I didn't have insurance, I went to a clinic to get checked out and my fasting blood sugar was about 96 mg/dl. So again, I didn't think it was diabetes and the doctor didn't think anything of it. I'm waiting for my new insurance to kick in to get checked out again because I really am so tired of having to deal with this. Is it possible to have diabetes but have a normal fasting blood sugar and have it undiagnosed for this long?
