Please help with Medtronic Guardian Sensor 3 insertion?

I've had a looped pump/CGM system since mid February, and honestly I love it. However, swapping out the sensor drives me absolutely nuts.

Every single time I shoot the thing into my arm, it fails the first 2 times, and I have to whip out 3 sensors. Either the entire clear thing where the transmitter connects fills up with blood (risk of leaking into the transmitter, although I'd like to know if a bloodied clear bit that doesn't leak is still a viable sensor), or the plastic pin you pull at the top to get the needle out is stuck and rips out the whole damn thing. Sometimes I can't even wiggle the thing loose.

It could be a manufacturing issue, but it drives me up the wall. As a result of COVID-19, I can also only get a month's worth of supplies at this time. I recently restocked, but due to aforementioned struggles I have burned through 1 month of supplies in about two weeks. (I'm fairly certain I can sort that out with the pharmacy, though.)

Does anyone have any advice on how to get these suckers to stick more consistently on the arm? My last sensor is currently on my stomach because I find it easier to apply it there and I didn't want to risk being without a sensor. I honestly hate having it there though, because there's already so many dark spots/bruising/tiny scabs and scars on my stomach from using the infusion set, so any advice related to that would also be super appreciated.

(It's also worth mentioning that I live in Norway and don't have to pay for supplies, so while any advice relating to getting the wasted supplies replaced is appreciated, it's not needed.)

And sorry if this comes across as angry or rant-y, I'm just kind of frustrated with it.
