First off, everything is sorted, and I have backups because I'm getting used to this at this point, but I would love to know, has anyone seen a decrease in quality of the medtronic pumps specifically the 630/670 models?
I used to have a 523, and I switched up, when I accidentally went swimming with it. (Not even the first time. I'm incredibly forgetful, happened several times and was fine, but the last time the battery cover was cracked and therefore was very much NOT waterproof.) and that thing was indestructible, as I mentioned, it went swimming despite not advertising to be waterproof, and survived many a year of a clumsy, forgetful kid, only to still be kicking (it died temporarily, and I discovered several months later with the first of my faulty 600 series that it still worked swimmingly.) But once I started using the 600 series I discovered that once every several years they fail. I might be on my third or fourth one now, despite having taken much much better care of it, being that I'm no longer a child. This one for example, stopped making the beeps when refilling and now crashes every time I run a selftest. No drops. No water (I know they're waterproof but I still fear) And as far as I can tell, nothing that could've caused it, but it is indeed broken, and medtronic is sending another. I'd be more annoyed but medtronic is fantastic about sending out replacements, they've overnighted it, and waived the need for a signature as to remain contactless, but I'd love to know, am I just some freak outlier, or are these pumps less reliable?
tl;dr: 523 has great reliability, 670 not so much, thoughts?
