Newly diagnosed,

Just looking for tips and encouragement. I am 23M I was diagnosed last monday. Was peeing so much i thought i had a uti so went to doc. BG @ 350, gave away my carb heavy foods & began to eat a carb less diet for two days, was prescribed Janumet & started dosages. Every meal eaten with the janumet came back up, so i didn’t eat technically from Tuesday - Thursday. so I checked into the ER friday. diagnosed with DKA, and have been bouncing from ICU to PCU since. they had me fast friday and saturday, and sunday i tried broths. my BG was still about a 300. Began insulin IV, & now they’re saying my phosphorus, potassium and electrolytes are too low. So i’m also taking those supplements every 4 hours. finally today on a low carb solid diet, BG still around 280. I know there are some people have it worse than me so I don’t want to complain, but this has been the hardest time of my life. No visitors to the ICU, and i have a newborn at home with my wife. I don’t know what I’m looking for in this hospital bed, encouragement, pointers, anything, I don’t know when I’ll be able to get out of here or be better and that’s scary.
