I moved home and had my first meeting with the new diabetic nurses. They were awful! Spoke down to me, looked over my BG and said shit like “well this isn’t good enough” etc. She asked me if i work out, I said yes and she she said “well you need to stop if you’re going low” she asked if I drank, I said no and she said “then explain these highs and then lows in the middle of the night??
To top it off one of them told me she thinks I’ve lost the ability to detect low blood sugars because my a1c is 5.8%. I told her bluntly that is not the case and I have a tight control and she turned to me and said AGAIN “well I think you have”. Then told me she will have to take my driving license and other shit.
Im honestly shook. She hardly let me defend myself or describe my low symptoms and she is convinced of it. Idk what to do cause she’s wrong but if she has that kinda power is there anything I can even do?
I’m back there tomorrow to program new basals for summer and I’m not looking forward to it at all.
