Hi, I'm recently diagnosed with diabetes, and man has it been a ride, originally I was "diagnosed" with type 1 on a recent hospital trip for something completely outside of diabetes (which was not fun due to covid outbreak right now). While there I was my bs was 375 and my a1c had come back 11.7. after seeing a Endo and having the antibodies test due to my size and weight and lifestyle not being typical for type 2 (5-10 155lbs and very physical demanding job) it finally came back today that the antibodies test is negative, meaning type 2 diabetes, I've never really watched what I have ate because I'm active and gain no weight, been skinny my whole life so when I got sent home from the hospital, I was giving novolog and levemir, after weeks of that my a1c dropped to 8.8. I've also recently been given jardiance (sorry if misspelled) so my bs have lowered to a average of 120-130 while fasting (few times drop below 100 but shoots right back up even if nothing has been ate), but even still using the insulin, when I eat my bs jumps anywhere from 190-300 (even while using insulin). I don't over eat or anything, so sorry for the long story but my question is can a type 2 be insulin dependant (the internet can be very confusing and misleading). If any more info needed feel free to ask.
