Hi everyone! I’ve had diabetes for 22 years now and I’ve recently went on a Dexcom cgm and a Tslim insulin pump. Lately I’ve just noticed that my skin is really taking a beating from all of the site changes and I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same?
I mostly notice my skin acting up with my Dexcom. After day 2 or 3. It starts to get very itchy and sometimes I’ll get a small patch of hives around the sensor. When I change it, there’s usually a very dry patch of skin that remains afterwards and will stay for a really long time.
When I change my pump site, I’m usually left with a dark spot. It kind of looks like a bruise but it doesn’t hurt like one and it doesn’t really go away. I change my site every 2.5-3 days.
Any advise would be much appreciated!
