Kidney/back pain when sugars are high?

Does anyone else have any experience with this?

I currently have an infection in my toe, and my sugars are sky high because of it, and I'm getting excruciating back/kidney pain; I've tried all kinds of pain relief but nothing is working. I can't sleep, can't eat, can't do anything but be in pain. I'm thinking a trip to the Emergency department might be in order if I can't get it to stop.

Any suggestions to relieve the pain?
