Lost, confused about if I should fill these labs- prediabetic with stupid questions here

Hello, feel free to down vote if I'm just asking dumb stuff. Like my title, I'm just really confused at what to do right now.

History: 30's/F/Normal BMI. No symptoms or diabetes, but a family history. I had a blood test come back in Jan with a 6.4 A1C. Was referred to an endocrinologist because, in 2015, along with a 6.3 A1C, I also had a slightly high thyroid level. So I've been monitoring my fasting and changed my diet while I waited months for my appointment.

I finally went to my appointment, and the doctor ordered a bunch of tests- some to check the thyroid from my 2015 results (didn't have a recent one), and then others for the blood sugar. Finger pick test at the office said my A1C was 6.1. He told me he thought I was likely T2, but at the moment I was pre diabetic. So, ok, great. I get my blood taken, and then when I get home the office calls and say, oh sorry we don't accept your insurance, lol we can't see you again. Offices that will take my insurance are booked until at least Feb 2018.

They did, however, send me a paper copy of the labs ordered, and said I could get them filled through a lab that takes my insurance. I have no idea how to do that, however, and what would I do with the results even when I had them? Are the results something my primary doctor could interpret? And is it even worth filling these if I couldn't get an appointment until Feb 2018 anyway?

I'm just confused at what my next steps should be and how ordering labs even works. I don't know what to do with the results even when I got them. Basically I'm just lost. In my adult life I've been to the doctor a total of like, 3 times before this and I just feel over my head in dealing with this. Any advice would help, thanks!
