Removed Dexcom G5 transmitter prematurely from its box... what to do?

Two weeks ago I decided to be dumb and took out my second unused Dexcom G5 transmitter from its box (RIP). I originally wanted to take out the transmitter so that I could make an outline of its shape on the Opsite tape that I use to tape over the sensor.

After reading some posts online today about how the transmitter battery will start after being removed from its box and taking another hard, long look at the warning label over the transmitter, I suddenly realized my fuck up. I acknowledge that it was completely my mistake to ignore the warning and remove the transmitter prematurely. Should I still try giving Dexcom a call for any possible reprieve?
