Those diagnosed with Diabetes (any type) in adulthood (early to mid 30's), what made you seek treatment and discover the diagnosis?

For those diagnosed as adults, I am curious what made you seek treatment? Was your diabetes discovered during a routine medical check-up, or were you experiencing symptoms that lead you to find a doctor?

The last few days, I've been peeing quite a bit more than what I would consider normal. I've noticed irregular periods of blurry vision in one eye - kind of like when you rub your eyes, but it takes a bit to go away. Also, random tingling sensations that tend to happen in my arm or face.

I know, I might be on the wrong track, but the symptoms seem to line up, and diabetes seems to be the most common due to my lifestyle, weight, etc. Perhaps this should be a wake-up call.

I know, I should see a doctor myself rather than poll Reddit, and I am this afternoon after work - but I am just curious - what lead up to the discovery that you have Diabetes.
