The last 24 hours monitoring my 9 y.o. daughter's t1d.

Awakened at 12:30 AM by the CGM, which was vibrating, even though the setting was normal. It read 42 URGENT LOW, even though a finger stick read 163. I had just replaced the Dexcom the previous evening. Hard to get back to bed after that scare.

This evening: daughter (who has lost dessert privileges) admits to me that she gave herself insulin so she could have something sweet. The problem is, she gave her 70-pound self 3.85 units rather than a single unit by accident! "I got distracted!" she admitted. Belly full of juice now, I've got my eyes glued to her numbers as she stabilizes. I scared her before she went to bed, and my wife consoled her.

Has anyone had to deal with either the Dexcom issue or, scarily, a rebellious kid problem in a similar vein?
