Hi, this is my first post. I am a T1 on a pump for 10 years. Was diagnosed in my 40’s as T1.5, gradually my insulin production dried up. Diabetes was the main reason I changed my career from a pressure tech cubicle-farm job to one working for a community college where I almost never sit down. One plus side of working for CC is my health insurance is above average. I am happy with the basic Medtronic 522 pump. I got a replacement due to recall, so this is my 2nd 522. I am not very good at checking BG and I am physically active, so frequently my BG is a roller coaster ride. When I am working out, or repairing some equipment for the college, I just have no idea where my blood sugar is heading. With us, it is the trend that’s the most important. So I have been thinking of cgm a lot lately. For me it is a matter of when, not if I will get on it. Dexcom release on android would be a real incentive. My question to you folks is, what do I need to do to get Kaiser (North Cal) to approve and cover the cost for a cgm? To be honest, I haven’t had a problem with ultra lows at night.
