No longer able to afford pens, now I have to use syringes. What are some things I should know? I have been on Novolog and Lantus. Will I still be using those?

So now that my Medicaid doesn't pay for my Lantus or Novolog flex pens on account of me being an adult (which I very much do not like at all. I am all for Capitalism and free trade, but holy fucking shit, this is bullshit.), so I am now going to be forced to use the kind where you have the vial of insulin and draw it up into a syringe.

So I have no idea what the differences are. Will I still be using Lantus and Novolog, or will I use Humalog and some other type of long acting? And how will I carry it around with me? I obviously can't just carry it in my pocket anymore can I? How do I draw it up and calculate the units?
