Kickbacks for UHC?

Hello! Quick question:

Does UHC get kickbacks from Lifescan or Johnson & Johnson? I ask because I got prescribed Bayer Contour Next strips and UHC decided to cover it as a tier 3 medication, making it more expensive than just buying it over the counter.
