Hello everyone, my best friend has diabetes, he just found out about five months ago, he is caucasian(mostly Ukranian)5' 10" and about 280lbs, and 45 years old, he's kinda a big kid, he looks mean, tattoos, death metal shirts, but is a huge teddy bear, he is really nice, he has an ulcer on his left toe, he has had it since september 2017(ish), the doctors wrapped it up and gave him antibiotics, 3 different kinds in a row, which he took exactly as prescribed, but his foot isn't getting better, at one point it had spread up his leg and the docs were calling it cellulitis, we live in Canada so money isn't an issue, that's not why I'm posting. In fact i don't rightly know why I AM posting, I am scared, the docs say he may have to have it amputated if the IV antibiotics he's getting tomorrow at the hospital don't work, I really don't want that for him, he's a good person. He is not active at all, he is very stubborn and will not accept my suggestions of getting some excercise(not sure if that is even helpful in this situation)and i want him to eat some raw honey and quit smoking, I am scared, why does this have to happen to one of my last good friends(my other friend hung himself and my other OD'd on alcohol and died). What can I do? How can i help him? Can i help him? I hate diabetes, what a brutal disease.
