I got a very exciting email a couple of days ago. About a year and a half ago, I put my name on a waiting list to try out a bionic pancreas. At that time, they were getting ready to do human testing and I told the woman in charge that I'd love to be part of the trial. I received an email saying that human trials were to be starting in September. She asked for my age, most recent A1c, how I maintain my Diabetes now, and a few other questions. Overall, it looks like I could be a candidate!! I won't know for sure for a couple of months, but this could be a great thing! The research team is from Massachusetts General Hospital. According to the plans, it'll be a 4 week study where the iLet Bionic Pancreas controls all insulin. I'm really excited, and once I hear something, I'll let you guys know!!
