Diver Medial Certificate for a Type 1 Diabetic

I’m in need of some assistance from any medical professionals or Type 1 diabetics who has been through this before.

Long story short, I have a Australia trip planned later this year and just reserved a live-aboard at the great barrier reef. Since I am a diabetic the dive operator said I needed a “diving medical certificate from a diving medicine specialist". Every single doctor that the Divers Alert Network (DAN) referred me to refuses to see me. All three that I have contacted today said they will not see insulin-dependent diabetic’s.

Does anyone know what I can do? I would be severely depressed if I could not dive the great barrier reef just because I am a diabetic.
