Fairly new T1D, I have some questions

Hi, Back in October (on Halloween ironically) I was admitted into the hospital because my pediatrician diagnosed me with type 1 diabetes (I'm 16m btw.) Its been almost 3 months, and things are going mostly well. I do not have the pump, but I do have the Dexcom G6 (just got it a week ago actually, used to just finger prick). My numbers are often fine, 100-150 usually, and I take insulin shots in morning and at night. If I wanted to, I can get the pump right now, but I'm holding back because I honestly have no problem with the insulin shots currently. Takes no more than a few mins to do in morning and at night and I finally dont have to do finger pricking anymore (hated that more than shots and did it more often) so I'm just wondering, what are the benefits of the pump and will I eventually need it? I heard the doctors saying something about my body may still be producing some insulin but soon it will stop completely, but they said that months ago. Will it get harder? Is the pump that much better? I dont play sports really but at the same time I'm just not a fan of having things attached to me at all times. The dexcom is small and I did get used to it, but not sure about pump.

I dont know any other t1ds, and if there are any in my family I wouldn't know, since I do not know all of my actual family or if they had t1d.
