Remove the guard before insertinga new infusion site!

I woke up a bit late this morning. Groggily checked my blood sugar and calibrated my pump. I saw that the reservoir was low, so I prepped a new one and cleaned an infusion site.

After cleaning the skin and letting it dry, I popped that sucker in. It felt a bit weird, and the needle was a bit bent when I removed the inserter housing.

A few uncomfortable hours later it dawned on me - I never removed the blue plastic needle guard. I started wondering if I could fix it myself, or if I would need to visit the ER, exactly how deep was this piece of plastic? Turns out, it had bent to the side, so I could peel up a bit of the adhesive and remove the tube. Instant sigh of relief.

TLDR: Didn't take the plastic needle guard off my infusion canula. Turned out okay.
