18 months ago I was diagnosed type 2 with an A1c of 11.5. With diet and exercise and Metformin I was able to drop it to 5.2 a year ago and held it there for six months. Then I dropped it again to 5.
And today my doctor told me that she isn't renewing my prescription!!
I go back in January for a follow up. If my numbers are good then I'll stay off the meds for a while. I will keep tabs on my blood glucose in the intrim.
What I did was to take her dietary and exercise recommendations seriously. You can't cheat your way into health. You can eat a cookie, but you have to account for it. And having more than one cookie once in a while makes a problem.
If you've just been diagnosed T2 and are wondering if you can ever eat good food again, or if you're wondering how you're going to manage your life now, or if you're just feeling low about your diagnosis, message me. Every journey is different since every body is different but I can cheer you on.
Happy day!!
