I currently use pens to manage my blood sugar but find I hit highs and lows way too often. I've debated on moving to a pump and I'm going to muster up the courage to talk to my doctor tomorrow about it. I like a lot of the features and I think it might overall be a better experience, but I'm still scared. I don't like the idea of having a device on me all the time, this reminder that my body is broken. I like the freedom of the pens to just live and not have to worry about a hose attached to me. I'm afraid my kids might pull on it, that it might get kinked or I might run out of insulin or something and not have the supplies with me to fix it.
Has anyone else experienced what I'm going through? The pens are just so hard to keep my blood sugar within range and I have the overwhelming feeling that using a pump might actually help a lot. Can anyone tell me their experience? Has it been positive? Have you had the same fears? Thanks a ton in advance.
(For the record, I'm going to shoot for the tSlim since I have a Dexcom already, I think it might be the right one considering I have the CGM).
