Took short-acting insulin instead of long acting by mistake- but survived!

Instead of taking my usual 27 units of lantus at night, last night I think (80% sure) I injected 27 units of humolog. Ended up eating about half a dozen bowls of cereal, and staying awake through the whole damned night, to fend of hypos.

Then, at about 4am (not entirely sure, but strongly suspected I'd taken the wrong insulin), took 10 units of lantus.

Anyway, I've managed to survive it- eating very little today and taking extra humolog.

But in the future, I will be REALLY careful...It used to be that the long-acting was white and the short acting was clear- now the packaging and the appearance of the different insulins is so very similar.....
