I'm 20, and I've recently been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, and in the past 2 months I've completely changed my diet and can now maintain my blood sugar at healthy levels(70-125). After some further blood work my doctor has discovered that Im actually still producing insulin (in his words "just alittle less than the normal amount") and that I also don't have any pancreatic antibodies. To my knowledge type 1 diabetics don't produce any insulin at all, and they also have pancreatic antibodies, so Im extremely confused. I talked to my doctor and he said that I seem to have symptoms associated with both type 1(specifically weight loss) and type 2 diabetes (specifically extreme thirst), but he can't fully say what exactly I have yet. Im currently off all medications (was previously on 2.5 mg of glizide then switched to Xigduo) and I dont really know how to feel because as I said before Im extremely confused about my diagnosis. I've been a realitively healthy person throughout all of my life, I've always worked out and exercised (until this year), and for the most part I've eaten healthy (until the quarantine hit). If any of you guys have gone through a similar experience could you please help me out by understanding your situation.
