Tentatively celebrating!

I got diagnosed a little over a month ago with an A1C of 12.4 ( I think?? Not clear on whether that was converted to mmol/dL or not. Either way it's a lot). After a week the medication and diet changes seemed to start working and aside from a few hiccups I've been under my targets. Tonight I looked at the average of my readings over the past month and it's the equivalent to a 6.8 A1C :)

Getting diagnosed and suddenly being hyperaware of what foods are doing to my blood sugar levels has been a lot to deal with and learn, and I've been struggling with a lot of anxiety. The next time I get the actual test done, it may be higher or lower than this estimate but for now I'm going to just let myself feel like I'm going to be okay.
