t2 newbie here

october 19th 2020 i was diagnosed with hypertension and diabetes. I had a blood test done 2 years ago to the date and they had said i was prediabetic so I'm assuming at some point in the last year I pushed over the edge a1c-wise. My a1c at diagnosis was 6.8 and my bp was 168/88. unfortunately, my point for going to the doctor that day was because i had a feeling i had a hernia. fast forward a couple days later, i get the ct scan for the hernia and i have that, as well as hepatic steatosis. they didnt really go over that in too much detail but as far as what i had read online its basically preliminary fatty liver. it was strange to me that they didnt talk about that more, but the plan of action after that day was the norm, limit calories and lose weight before the next follow up (which right now is next week thursday 11/19). i have been following a ketogenic diet, cheated 0 times since 10/19, been working out 5-6 days a week, and have dropped 12 lbs total as of today.

since i was only medicated for the hypertension and not the diabetes, what do you guys think a cheat day will do for me? honestly i just want a damn pizza and that's it, but i will likely wait until after my follow up. since im not monitoring my blood glucose i'm just wondering what the risks are.

edit: also worth saying, im 5'9", was 306lbs (currently 294), normal large guy that lifts weights stature, most body weight is in the belly.
