Hi Reddit! A year ago, I announced Distillr, a diabetes app I was working on. The app is now finally live, and I'd love to hear your thoughts once more!

Hi Reddit!

Julian here, founder of Distillr. A year ago, I posted on /r/diabetes about an app I was working on.

The premise itself was rather simple: apps are still unintuitive, logging is still too frustrating, making decisions is still too error-prone, and getting help from others is still unduly difficult, and it was time to change that.

It's high time for a beautiful, easy-to-use solution that works everywhere, be it web, iOS, Android, Windows Phone, or smartwatches. This isn't a question of market share, but of providing a fantastic experience for all regardless of the tools at your disposal.

It's time to rethink logging. In addition to syncing with the latest and greatest CGMs, insulin pumps, and fitness trackers in real-time, we're overhauling manual logging as you know it via an incredibly easy user experience and the introduction of voice input as a frictionless way to log all of your data.

It's time to bring AI to diabetes, so we're introducing a personal assistant that can identify trends in your data and even predict hypo and hyperglycaemia ahead of time. Artificial pancreases are still a while away, so it's time to build the next best thing!

Last but certainly not least, it's time to make collaboration easy and instantaneous via in-app chat and real-time remote monitoring popularised by amazing projects like NightScout.

Your response a year ago was incredible, and not only validated what I was working on, but pushed me to continue.

It's now a year later, and my co-founder Ali and I are happy to announce that Distillr is now finally live!

The app can be found on the web, on iOS, on Android, and even on Windows Phone 🎉 (Small note regarding Windows Phone: the app is still processing, so should be available in a few hours 🙂)

None of this would have been possible without you, and so I'm incredibly excited to finally come full circle and hear your feedback once again. Have a question, suggestion, or comment? Nothing is out of bounds - we want to hear it all!

Stay classy, /r/diabetes 💖
