Very random question, but would it be safe for me to visit the Chernobyl Exclusion zone?

I have been interested in visiting this place for a while, and it seems i may have the chance to go in the next month or so. But i was wondering if my insulin pump and the insulin inside it would be safe from the higher levels of background radiation there? i have been told that it only reaches levels that are similar to the levels seen on long haul flights, but wanted to check with anyone who may have been there before.
